New Delhi: Ravichandran Ashwin bids farewell to international cricket after the memorable third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia at Gabba. The veteran spinner announced his retirement in an emotional press conference following the match. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared a touching video on social media, capturing Ashwin's final speech in the dressing room. The video also shows Virat Kohli visibly emotional as he listens to Ashwin's heartfelt words.

It can be seen in the video that Ashwin meets all the players while going towards the dressing room. During this, Australia captain Pat Cummins and star spinner Nathan Lyon also come to meet Ashwin. Cummins gifts a signed Australian jersey to the Indian spinner. Then gradually meeting the players, Ashwin reaches the dressing room.

After reaching the dressing room, Ashwin gives his final speech. As the speech progresses, the camera moves towards Virat Kohli, where he looks very emotional. Ashwin started his speech by saying, “It is easy to speak in the team huddle. This is a very emotional moment for me. It feels like it came in 2011-12. My first Australia tour. I saw the transition. Rahul bhai went, Sachin paaji went, but believe me, everyone’s time comes and today was my time.”

Ravichandran Ashwin’s international career:
It is worth noting that Ashwin started his international career in 2010, which ended in 2024. The Indian spinner played 106 Tests, 116 ODIs and 65 T20 International matches in his international career. Ashwin took 537 wickets in 200 innings of Tests and scored 3503 runs in 151 innings. Apart from this, he took 156 wickets and scored 707 runs in ODIs. In the remaining T20 Internationals, the Indian spinner took 72 wickets and scored a total of 184 runs while batting in 19 innings.
